Board Regular Meeting

December 13, 2021

Present: R. Burns, D. Johnson, Kurt Olson, G. Otto, B. Roehrborn, H. Burns, C. Smith,

Visitors:  David Schauer, Jeff Weinkauf

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

R. Burns made a motion, seconded by G Otto to approve the November minutes.  Motion approved 4-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.   R. Burns made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 4-0.   

Finance – D. Johnson gave the finance report.  K. Olson made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to pay the bills.  Motion approved 4-0.

Discussion was held on our insurance.  It was discovered that the Newby building is not being covered.  We will get it covered.  Jeff Weinkauf was present to answer question pertaining to insurance.

R. Burns made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to switch insurance companies to League of Wisconsin Municipalities Mutual Insurance Company/Spectrum for 2022.  Motion approved 4-0

Fire/EMS –Getting the fire truck on December 21st.

Public Works –Locks are changed at the dump.  Dave requested a meter Calibrator to calibrate our existing gas meter for confined spaces.  This would be a cost of $766.00.  He also requested a winch for the tri-pod.

The board reviewed the current sewer charges.  R. Burns made a motion, seconded by G. Otto to keep the rates as they are for the next two years.  Motion approved 4-0

Properties – Removal of house trailer located on Hwy D will wait till spring.

Ordinance/Personnel D. Johnson reported the grease trap enforcement is up to our board.  A letter will be drafted and sent to all that have grease traps pertaining on their maintenance upkeep.  Then Dave will check on them every 90 days to see if they are being taken care of.

Discussion/Approval of election workers for 2022-2023 – The following persons were recommended for election board workers for 2022-2023-Jami Schmidt, Betty Burns, Mickie Pagel, Laurie Schultz, Dianne Schultz, Ellen Riggenbach, Joad Rohde and SuAnn Pagel-Rast.  R. Burns made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to approve these election workers.  Motion approved 4-0. If anyone else is interested in becoming an election worker, please contact the clerk’s office as we are always looking for more.

Equipment –3 point hitch is working on the tractor.  Plow truck is having wiring issues.  (Will be referred to Carl for replacement ASAP).  Jeter is not back yet. Cutter Head rebuild cannot be done by manufacturer; alternative rebuild is being pursued.

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk –Deadline for new articles for the next newsletter is today.

Planning Commission – None

Caucus will be Held January 10, 2022 at 4:45pm

G. Otto made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to adjourn.  Motion passed 4-0
