 Board Regular Meeting

August 9, 2021

Present: R. Burns, D. Johnson, K. Fenske, K. Olson, S. Bunders, C. Schmidt, B. Roehrborn, H. Burns, C. Smith,

Visitors:  David Schauer, Ken Trzebiatowski, Dan Folan

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President B. Roehrborn

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

R. Burns made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to approve the July minutes.  Motion approved 6-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.   R. Burns made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 6-0.   

Public Input – Paperwork was presented from the lawyers to close E1/2 of Franklin St.  R. Burns made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to approve and sign the paperwork to abandon the E1/2 of Franklin.  Motion approved 6-0

Finance – D. Johnson gave the finance report.  K. Olson made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to pay the bills.  Motion approved 6-0

D. Johnson gave a report on repairs that need to be done to the sidewalk in front of the Evertsen property on Elm St.  He will come back next month with a cost estimate for this project.

R. Burns gave a report on cost of a generator for the lift station.  A Generac would cost us $16250.00 and a Kohler would cost $17029.00.  K Olson made a motion to purchase the Generac generator minus the automatic transfer switch, saving us $1,500.00.  Motion approved 6-0.

Gauge Electric is coming this week to install the lift station pump controls that have been on order.

The sewer pipe problem by Bob & Adele’s home is being worked on.

Dave gave a report on the tire roundup.  K. Olson made a motion, seconded by D. Johnson to have the following limits per household, Car – 14, Truck-8, Semi-3 and Tractor – 2.  Motion approved 6-0.  A date will be set at the next meeting.  We will let the Town of Almond and Belmont know after we set the dates.

Fire/EMS – Chief D. Folan informed the board that the Chassis for the new fire truck has arrived.  This means the new fire truck will be completed about the end of November.  He also reported he has received bids on truck that is up for sale.

Chief requested permission to purchase premium gas for the small engines for the fire department.  He will purchase it in gal containers as we do not use that much in a years’ time.

Properties – Mural is done on the south side of the library building.  Looks great.  Dave will be painting the remainder of the building to brighten it up.

Ordinance/Personnel -We need to look at our ordinance/state statures pertaining to grease being discharged into our sewer system.  We are getting too much damage from it.  K. Fenske will look into this. Heather is going to put information on our web page and Facebook with this information.

Equipment –New tractor has a 3- point hitch problem.  The lawn mower repairs are being fixed under warranty yet.

Zoning –Nothing

Cemetery – New person mowing grass

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk –None

Next Board will be August 9, 2021 at 7:00 pm.

S. Bunders – board member is leaving the area.  We will be looking for a new board member.  We have one person that is interested.

K. Fenske made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to adjourn.  Motion passed 6-0
