Village Board Meeting Minutes 12/14/2020

Present: K. Trzebiatowski, J. Riggenbach, R. Burns, H. Burns C. Smith, K. Olson, S. Bunders,

Pledge of Allegiance was said

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President K. Trzebiatowski

J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by K. Olson to approve the November minutes.  Motion approved 4-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.   K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 4-0. 

Greg Wright from Create Portage County presented the board with a proposal of a possible mural for the south side of the library with grant money that is available to them.  The board wasn’t 100% on board with what he proposed, but would be willing to work on something else.  R. Burns will be the contact person and will work with him on something in the future on a different proposal.

Finance -S. Bunders gave the finance report.  K. Olson made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to pay the bills.  Motion approved 4-0.  C. Smith reported on grant money that was awarded to the Village from a Routes to Recovery Grant available to the Village.  We were awarded a total of $6,877.00 that was used for Covid 19 related expenses.

Fire/EMS – Three EMR are retiring this coming year.

Public Works –The road work on Church Street is done.  Just needs some shoulder work done.

Properties – None

Ordinance/Personnel – Question was brought to the board’s attention on, do we have an ordinance in the village to require residents to maintain their homes and properties?  J. Riggenbach will look into this.

Discussion/Action on an application for an operator’s license for Mike Bloedorn.  K. Olson made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to approve an operator’s license to Mike Bloedorn.  Motion passed 4-0

Equipment –None, Dave is working on his CDL

Zoning – Two permits for a new roof and remodeling an entryway

Cemetery – None

Beautification – None

Media/Sewer Clerk –News letter is about done and will go out in December.

Anything else to come before the board – R. Burns read a statement stating the neither Heather or himself will run for Village President as they feel this would create a conflict of interest.

J. Riggenbach also stated that he will not be running for his position of Trustee on the Village board.

Caucus date was set for January 11, 2021 at 6:45pm.  If anyone is interested in being Village President or a Village board Trustee, please come to this Caucus meeting.

Next Board will be January 11, 2021 at 7:00pm

K. Olson made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to adjourn.  Motion passed 4-0
