This page is used by the Village Board to inform our residents and other interested individuals about the official business of the Village of Almond.

Village Board meetings are regularly held the 2nd Monday of each month. All are encouraged to attend and take part in your local government.

Free Nitrate Water Screening

Portage County will be hosting at the Village Municipal Center on THURSDAY MARCH 28th, 2024 from 4pm-7pm. This event is open for anyone who resides in Portage County. See the flyer below for more information.

Now Hiring – Maintenance Supervisor

The Village of Almond has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Supervisor.

The ideal candidate should be a self starter and able to get things done in a timely manner. Applicants should have some mechanical and electrical knowledge along with basic computer skills, welding and cutting torch knowledge. Additionally, applicants must currently hold a CDL or acquire one within the Village Board’s set time limit.

This is a 40 hour a week position, but the employee would be on call 24 hours a day, unless they are out of the area, on vacation. Contact the Village Clerk for detailed list of job duties.

Dog License Reminder

Reminder that ALL dogs kept within the Village of Almond are required to be licensed by March 31st to avoid a mandatory late fee.

Spayed/Neutered dog licenses are $17

Unspayed/Unneutered dog licenses are $27

Contact the Village Office to set up an appointment to get your dog license before March 31, 2024. State law and County ordinances require all dogs over the age of 6 months to be licensed and current on their rabies vaccinations. Citations to the owner of an unlicensed dog can cost between $169-$263.

Notice of Spring Election – April 2, 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an election to be held in the Village of Almond, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.  The term for village trustees will begin on April 16, 2024.  All terms are for two years unless otherwise indicated.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a village caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates to appear on the spring election ballot for the above listed offices will be scheduled between December 1, 2023 and January 1, 2024.  The caucus will be held on a date not sooner than January 2,2024 and not later than January 21, 2024.  Notice of the scheduled date of the caucus will be given at least five days before the caucus.

Village of Almond Residential Improvement Fund

Job OpeningCollection Site Attendant

The Town and Village of Almond are currently looking to hire a Part-Time attendant at the Collection Site. This is position is responsible for the clean, orderly, and proper collection of waste matter and recyclables at the Collection Site.

Qualifications including being able to lift up to 75lbs and the possession of a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle capable of hauling the waste from Sunset Manor.
