Village Board Minutes May 112, 2020

Present: J. Riggenbach, R. Burns, B. Roehrborn, H. Burns, C. Smith, K Trzebiatowski, S. Bunders, C. Schmidt

This meeting was held as a ZOOM Video Conference

President K. Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.

J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to accept the April minutes.  Motion

approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report.   S. Bunders made a motion, seconded by

C. Schmidt to accept the Treasurer’s report.  Motion approved 5-0.

Public Input – None

Finance -S. Bunders gave the finance report. R. Burns made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to accept the report.  Motion approved 5-0.  J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by R. Burns to approve the Resolution No 5-11-20 Waiving interest and penalties on certain late property tax payments due and payable after April 1, 2020 recommended by the county.  Motion approved 5-0. 

Discussion was held on if we should change the Class B Beer, Class B Liquor licenses and operators licenses for this year.  The Tavern League has sent a letter suggesting municipalities reduce the cost of licenses this year only.    R. Burns made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to keep the licenses fees the same due to the lack of any input from the tavern owners.  Motion approved 5-0

Fire and EMS – The Joint Fire Committee is going to set up a meeting in June to discuss the purchase of a different fire truck. 

Public Works –The committee met on April 22 to open the bids for the Church St project.  The committee recommended to the board that the bid be awarded to American Asphalt of Wisconsin for $39,920.00.  B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to award the bid to American Asphalt.  Motion approved 5-0.

Dave reported at the lift station the control modules are starting to give him trouble.  He was told to get estimates to replace them.

Properties – The little shed at the dump lost some shingles.  Dave has repaired it. Dave reported there has been a lot of activity at the dump.   There is also weird weed growing on the Fay property.  Dave has been asked to mow the Fay property for one month to see what kind of time it requires.

Ordinance/Personnel – J. Riggenbach will work on the burning ban and bring it back to the board.

Equipment – Need to start working on the tractor lease for this year.  Still looking for a snowplow truck.

Zoning –one remodel job. Completed now.

Cemetery – 7 plots have been purchased

Media/Sewer Clerk – Newsletter is going out the end of June.  Need to get articles into Heather the first part of June.

Beautification – Ladies are starting to make plans to plant flowers in the pots.

Committees will remain the same for another year.

Next meeting of the board will be Monday June 8, 2020.

B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by S. Bunders to adjourn.  Motion passed 5-0.
