Village Board Minutes November 12, 2018

Village of Almond Board Meeting November 12, 2018 Present: J. Riggenbach, B. Roehrborn, K. Trzebiatowski, R. Burns, K. Olsen, C. Schmidt, H. Burns, C. Smith Visitors: Dan Folan, Joan Rohde, Robert Rohde Pledge of Allegiances was said President K Trzebiatowski called the meeting to order at 7:00pm J. Riggenbach made a motion, seconded by K. Olsen to accept the November minutes. Motion carried 5-0. Treasurer’s Report: H. Burns gave the treasurer’s report. B Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by C Schmidt to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried 5-0. Finance – R. Burns presented the bills. K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by B. Roehrborn to pay the bills. Motion carried 5-0. Assessor Pay – B Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to increase the Assessor’s pay by $200.00. Motion carried 5-0. The Village received First notice from the State for non-compliance for assessed full value of property within the Village. We have until 2020 to comply. Fire – Dan gave a report that the fire department has had a record number of runs so far this year. Public Works – A contract was presented for a payloader rental from Den-Al Brothers LLP for snow removal for this winter for 5 months. The contract is in the amount of $1650.00 per month starting November 15th, 2018 and ending April 15th, 2019. B. Roehrborn made a motion and seconded by K. Olsen to sign the lease. Motion carried 5-0. Equipment – The John Deere lawn has been having some issues. Dan thinks maybe the safety switches. He was advised to take it up toe Riesterer & Schnell and have it gone over. He will take it up tomorrow. Zoning – Nothing Cemetery – Next month will talk about the CD’s that will come due in January and what we should do with them. Beautification – None Ordinance /Personnel- Discussion was held on when and where to advertise for the Maintenance Supervisor position. K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by B Roehrborn to put it in the classified ad in The Stevens Point City times, and Waupaca, Buyers Guide for Portage County, Portage County Gazette, Waushara Argus & Resorter for a month and also to put it on Facebook. Motion carried 5-0 B Roehrborn made a motion and seconded by J. Riggenbach to adjourn to the Budget Meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Adjourned at 7:58pm President K. Trzebiatowski called the Budget meeting to order at 8:00pm. Bob Rohde made a motion and seconded by Joan Rohde to approve the Budget for 2019. Motion carried. K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by R Burns to return to the regular board meeting. Motion carried 5-0. President K. Trzebiatowski called the regular meeting to order at 8:05pm B. Roehrborn made a motion, seconded by C. Schmidt to approve the 2019 budget. Motion carried 5-0. K. Olsen made a motion, seconded by J. Riggenbach to donate a small trailer that the village owns to the Almond Fire Department to put their advertising sign on it to transport between storage and when they use it for displaying use. Motion carried 5-0. H. Burns is putting out the next Almond Village News letter and requested all articles be given to her before December 3, 2018. Next meeting will be December 10, 2018.
